BACK TO SCHOOL

It’s that time of the year when children around the world are going back to school – including my two darlings.  Here it was sunny and bright with just the right amount of chill in the air.  For some reason that inspired my son to wear a winter hat.  Did it make him feel protected??

With excitement and trepidation kids and parents packed backpacks and lunches to get ready for a new school year.  It was the topic of much discussion with my kiddos, both the ones that call me mama and the ones who see me regularly for online speech therapy.

As I watched my kids leave on the bus I thought about the preparations we had made for the new school year and also the way life would go back to normal when they got home this afternoon.  After a long summer of relaxing, we’ll have to tighten our reigns and get back to learning.  But its not just them. My brain was racing too with the question of what will make this a successful school year?  As I thought about this I came across a few insightful articles that I felt were worth sharing.  They cover different topics but all bring to light the fact that school is not just about tests and scores.  The more we put into it as students, teachers and parents the more we get out of it!  Whether you are a student, parent, teacher or therapist, lets all start the year as dedicated and eager learners!
